Coon Hollow Whiskey

Hi, could you give me info on a bottle please?

It is an amber color and says COON HOLLOW BOURBON WHISKEY with an embossed raccoon face on front. Also a raccoon on the back. The bottle has a wrinkled finish to resemble tree bark. The bottom says coon hollow with a circle with a line angled through it. The bottle is in perfect condition. Please advise on age, value, history and rarity. Pictures included. Thank you. Dave

Dave, Here's what I was able to find out. The Coon Hollow Distillery was located in Nelson county, Kentucky and began business there about 1883.  In 1884 the company had an arson related fire and lost over 1400 barrels of whiskey. They had a couple  of brands including:, Big Spring whiskey and Coon Hollow whiskey. The company remained in business until prohibition in 1918 (the ads shown are pre-1900) and was one of dozens of brands bought up by the American Medicinal Spirits Company (see trademark information below) I'd estimate your bottle, which dates to the 1934-1940 era to be worth $35-45.
