Bottle collectors just love Saratoga Mineral Water bottles for their age and beauty.  They come a range of colors unmatched by many of the other collecting categories.  Saratoga County New York had the greatest number of mineral springs and resorts compacted into a small area.  In the years just preceding and following the Civil War mineral waters were in their glory.

 Clarke and Lynch were among the earliest producer of mineral water in this country.  They began production about 1823 and numerous variants of their bottles can be found. The one shown below is a crude pontiled specimen.


Dr. John Clark at one time owned three of the major Springs including the famous Saratoga Congress Spring and the High Rock Spring.

Spring Water bottles from the New York area are often marked by letters for which the springs were named.
