Willie White sent these photos of his New Orleans well dig. He says, "Bottles as early as 1780-1790 latest to 1840! 4 day effort for 4-5 people.
Bottles started at 4 foot level and continued uninterrupted down to the bottom at
18 feet. 1500-2000 gallons of water hauled to storm drain at street. We returned
more than 250 bottles to the well, keeping 400 items. Interesting item is that
while we were in the French Quarter, we were actually in the "American sector", as demonstrated by all of the U. S. manufactured bottles. We did get
some beauties from Paris too." Willie
